Meeting with the EU Ambassador

EU Ambassador to New Zealand, H.E. Nina Obermaier will be in Auckland on Thursday 7th April and welcomes the opportunity to meet with NZEBC members. Due to the red traffic light settings we will need to limit the number of physical attendees to those who are fully vaccinated. An individualized ‘lunch bag” will be provided.
For those who would prefer to come in virtually, we will have either MS Teams or Zoom set up, and a link will be sent to your email address, listed in the registration, prior to the event.
Agenda
- Update on last EU/NZ FTA round
- Opportunity to give advice on communications tools about the future FTA to help prepare EU businesses seize unlocked new opportunities
- Opportunity to participate in an economic study aimed at creating a pre-FTA baseline of existing EU economic footprint in NZ (investment, business to business links, networks) and assess growth potential
- Delegation of the European Union to present the new Acces2Markets tools developed to support EU businesses in their export strategy internationally as well as the Single Entry Point for reporting trade barriers
H.E. Nina Obermaier
Prior to her posting to NZ, Nina spent three years working as Adviser to the Deputy Chief Negotiator for the UK withdrawal from the European Union. She was Lead Negotiator for issues related to Ireland/Northern Ireland.
A German citizen, she has also worked for German media. Aside from her mother tongue, Nina speaks English, French and Dutch.
